Therapist- Grant Funded

Do you enjoy trying new things?  Do you embrace change?  How about making a difference in the life of a young person?  Lawrence Hall has a grant funded, time limited position with opportunities for longer term employment. Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Services Manager or designated supervisor; the Grant Based therapist carries a caseload of young adults, which include community based referrals aged 14-26 years old. Clients are typically referred into services due to involvement with Cook County Juvenile and/or Adult Probation, Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice, local schools, and community based organizations. The therapist is responsible for providing assigned young adults with individual and group therapy services. Treatment is trauma-focused, with common clinical concerns including treatment of trauma symptoms, attachment issues, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, reluctance/resistance to treatment, and a variety of other presenting problems. Therapist will need to be certified in providing Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), as this will be the primary method of treatment provided. The vast majority of these services will be individual appointments, and the length of service may vary depending on the individual characteristics of the youth. When feasible, group services will be offered and may focus on shared learning with TF-CBT, psychoeducation about mental health needs, and pro-social skill development.
